I had to decide which category to list this one under, as it's technically all water, but it's frozen, so it's all solid ground, (if you walk softly)........
These icebergs are a little rarer than the common types usually seen in pictures. Referred to as "JadeBergs", I think the reason is fairly evident in their
colouring. They differ from the usual icebergs in that they consist of ice which is almost devoid of airbubbles, (which help to give normal bergs their blueish colour.)
Like the same sort of ice which comes out of the freezer, they are clear like glass, with stress cracks. They're produced by Antarctic "melt lakes" which occur in summer,
where the snow and blue ice, melt in to a wettish pool of ice and water in a depression on the ice plateau, or against nunataks "mountains" which poke through the ice sheet.
They then flow along with the ice sheet, much like rocks in a glacier, until they drop off the edge of the Antarctic coast into the ocean.
Amazing shot. You can feel how cold it is. I would love to take a tour down to Antarctica. It would be a facinating place. Its good to see so many diffenent colours in one piece of ice so to speak!
this is a gorgeous shot...the colors and textures of this berg are amazing. I can see why they are called Jade bergs I love the swirl of color on the right hand side...a jade berg rainbow

It is a good idea to "shop around" before you settle on a doctor. Ask about the condition of his Mercedes. Ask about the competence of his mechanic. Don't be shy! After all, you're paying for it.

One day i will convince my wife to take a cruise from Argentina down to Antartica. Its somewhere out of the ordinary. I just want to see them with my own eyes. They look so beautiful, graceful yet can be so lethal when you consider the Titanic!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
